Septage FAQ's

I live within the Precinct. NCWP never used to charge per gallon for me to dispose of my septage, but now they do. Why is that?

When the WWTF was built in the late 1990’s, it was generally recognized that it would take many years for the full sewer system to be built out to a point where the vast majority of properties within the Precinct would enjoy the benefit of using the WWTF – but because payments for the construction bonds were funded through tax levy, property owners not using the WWTF still had to pay for it.

Because of this perceived inequity, properties within the Precinct not connected to the sewer system were not charged for their septage disposal. In 2018, the construction bond for the WWTF was paid in full and properties not connected to the sewer system would no longer be paying for the WWTF construction bond moving forward, ending the perceived inequity. With the bond paid off and perceived inequity reduced, the decision was made to end the “no-charge” disposal for properties within the Precinct while also lowering the septage disposal from $0.12 to $0.09 per gallon for all.

Does the WWTF accept private Septage dumping from RVs?

No, NCWP WWTF is not set up to receive dumps from privately owned RVs. Check with local campgrounds to find a dumping station nearby.
