NORTH CONWAY WATER PRECINCT

NOTICE OF ANNUAL MEETING

VOTER CHECKLIST SESSIONS

Supervisors of the Voter Checklist for the North Conway Water Precinct will be in session at the North Conway Fire Department for additions and corrections to the Voter Checklist on Tuesday, February 9, 2010 from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. and Saturday, March 20, 2010 from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon.

CANDIDATE FILING

The filing period to declare candidacy for the following Precinct Office is February 9, 2010 to February 19, 2010 from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p. m at the North Conway Water Precinct Office 104 Sawmill Lane North Conway, N.H. There is a $1.00 filing fee.

Commissioner -- 3 Year Term

Treasurer -- 1 Year Term

Moderator -- 1 Year Term

Clerk -- 1 Year Term

Supervisor of Checklist -- 3 Year Term

PETITIONED ARTICLE

The final date to submit petitioned articles for the 2010 North Conway Water Precinct Warrant is no later than 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 2, 2010. Petitions may be submitted to the North Conway Water Precinct Office 104 Sawmill Lane, North Conway, and N.H.

PUBLIC BOND HEARING & BUDGET HEARING

A Public Bond Hearing on the Proposed 2010 Bonding Articles on March 4, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at the North Conway Water Precinct Office 104 Sawmill Lane, North Conway, NH. Immediately following the close of the Public Bond Hearing a Public Budget Hearing on the 2010 Proposed Budgets will be held at the North Conway Water Precinct Office 104 Sawmill Lane, North Conway, NH.

ANNUAL MEETING

The North Conway Water Precinct Annual Meeting will be held on Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at the John Fuller School. The polls will be open for voting at 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. The business portion of the meeting will commence at 7:00 p.m.

The North Conway wastewater facility is a 'State of the Art' 1.5 Million Gallon per Day (MGD) advanced wastewater treatment plant incorporating the latest wastewater treatment technologies available. These advanced technologies are vital to the preservation of the pristine quality of the surrounding Mount Washington Valley and Saco River.

In addition to wastewater treatment, the plant also receives and treats septage from septic systems and leachate from local landfills. This reduces the environmental impacts that result from overburdened septic systems and long trucking distances to remote disposal sites.

Flowing through New Hampshire and Maine, the Saco River is a major tourist attraction in this lovely valley setting. The facility incorporates aesthetically appealing architectural and engineering features to complement the natural beauty of its New Hampshire setting. Situated between the Saco River and the Conway Scenic Railroad, the facility has been designed to resemble a railroad station with outbuildings. The outbuildings have been designed to blend with the surrounding farms. The clarifiers and sludge holding tanks have been covered to provide odor control and a low profile, thus reducing impact to the river boundary.
